Proudly, we introduce our Art of the Blend blended whisky to our customers, friends and fans. This is the result of our distilling team wanting to share their whisky knowledge and insight.
Initially, this was experimental – a bit of fun, but it began to yield some really exciting and interesting results which are now available in three completely new blends and batches.
Batch 1. This whisky blend has been matured in American Virgin oak 1/4 casks and 1st fill ex bourbon casks
Batch 2. This whisky blend has been matured in European Virgin oak 1/4 casks and some 1st fill ex bourbon casks with a small amount of ex Ardbeg casks
Batch 3. This whisky blend has been matured in ex Ardbeg casks
Eden Mill marked St Andrew’s Day 2016 by launching the Art Of The Blend; a three-strong range of premium blended whiskies at tastings in Glasgow, Dubai and at the Scottish Office in London.
The first 3 whiskies in the range began life from the same initial blend our team had created. We then ‘finished’ this whisky in different barrel types and sizes for approximately one year. Because we wanted to experiment, the resultant whisky was then married and bottled in the 3 differentiated styles. This highlighted the impact of the varying wood types. We’re now extremely proud to call our creations ‘The Art Of The Blend”.
Each bottle in each batch of blended whisky is individually numbered. With limited availability on each of the batches, make sure you don’t miss out as these whiskies are now available for sale.
There is an increasing recognition of the skill of the blender and the art and knowledge behind creating really special whisky. This is because it’s not mass produced blended whisky – it is small-batch, distinctive, full of flavour and very special. There is a realisation, now more than ever that the value of good whisky is no longer just about its age. Re-determining value and quality is opening up a whole new world of adventure for you – our enthusiastic, increasingly knowledgeable and discerning whisky loving friends.
Each bottle of whisky is individually numbered. Because we made them to be enjoyed, we hope they are whiskies that will really be enjoyed rather than bought for their scarcity and collectibility – particularly Batch 3.
Eden Mill’s maiden single malt is due for launch around January 2018 – a date to remember. Slainte.
