LOVE GIN, LOVE HOSPITALITY

EDEN MILL SUPPORT THE DRINKS TRUST CHARITY WITH DONATIONS FROM LOVE GIN SALES

LOVE GIN, LOVE HOSPITALITY

£2 from every 70cl bottle of Love Gin sold at £30 will help The Drinks Trust (and in Scotland The Ben: Scottish Licenses Trade Benevolent Society) to support wellness services they’ve launched in response to the emerging and likely long-term effects of the Covid-19 crisis on hospitality, including counselling services, help with sleep and insomnia and mindful drinking courses aimed at nurturing a healthy relationship with alcohol.

Love Gin, Love Hospitality will see a percentage of online sales of Eden Mill’s famous pink gin donated to charities which provide care and support to people from the drinks industry workforce.

Eden Mill CEO Tony Kelly said:

“Although we understand the need for further restrictions being brought in across Scotland and throughout the UK to control the rapid spread of Coronavirus, it’s coming down very hard on the hospitality industry and we know from conversations with our industry partners that hospitality is desperate for support. First reduced capacity and 10pm curfews, now a ban on alcohol sales and local hospitality closures; many bars, pubs and restaurants will struggle to survive.

In our opinion, while staying at home is the safest option, bars, pubs and restaurants have staff trained to manage the safe consumption of alcohol since before Covid began, and hospitality has made huge efforts to regulate their spaces to be the safest environments. Banning alcohol consumption and closing hospitality can only serve to encourage the unregulated mixing of households as the public are tempted to meet at home, therefore accelerating the spread of the virus.

Our Love Gin motto is ‘Share the Love’ and it is absolutely essential for us to show our support to an industry on its knees, so we’re donating £2 from every Love Gin 70cl bottle sold on our site to The Drinks Trust.

This summer we raised £10,000 for NHS associated charities, including CHAS and Masks 4 NHS Heroes with our blue Original Gin bottle, so we can only encourage our caring and generous customers to join us again in supporting an industry close to our hearts which needs our help.”

Ross Carter, CEO of The Drinks Trust, commented:

We are incredibly thankful to Eden Mill for their support to The Drinks Trust. The impact of these fundraising initiatives on the lives of our colleagues and friends in the drinks industry is significant and it will enable us to provide more help to those in need of our help in these difficult times”.

Chris Gardner, CEO of TheScottish Licenses Trade Benevolent Society said:

“This is fantastic news for the charity, we are under great pressure trying to help those in the trade in need, especially in these challenging times.  Thanks to all at Eden Mill for thinking of us, it will make a huge difference”.

Eden Mill Love Gin is the St Andrews distiller’s famous premium pink gin. Made from a blend of vibrant botanicals including rose petals and hibiscus, when diluted the gin releases sweet vanilla notes and floral flavour.

For a pink gin, the Love Gin bottle is very green, it uses 18% less glass than the industry standard bottle. Made in the UK and distilled in St Andrews, it has a low carbon footprint.

The 70cl bottles are available to buy here for £30 or can be bought in-store at one of Eden Mill’s festive pop-up shops in Livingston, St Andrews, Glasgow’s Princes Square and Silverburn.

Original Gin – In support of CHAS

LIMITED EDITION BOTTLE IN SUPPORT OF NHS AND HEALTHCARE WORKERS

In April 2020, Eden Mill created 5,000 limited edition bottles of their award-winning Original Gin in support of NHS and Healthcare workers. £2 from every bottle sold has been donated to charities supporting NHS and Healthcare workers.

We are proud to announce that from today (22nd June 2020), £2 from each bottle of our Original Gin sold, will be donated to CHAS

We are proud to announce that we reached our target for the first 2 months of sales of our limited edition bottles. These funds have been donated to Masks for NHS Heroes, a crowdfunding effort set up by front-line NHS doctors to help raise money for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Duty To Care. Duty To Care’s mission is to provide wellbeing support via online consultation to improve and sustain the mental health and wellbeing of healthcare professionals.

Children’s Hospices Across Scotland, better known as CHAS, continues to be there for these families through the most difficult times. Their hospices are still open but with reduced capacity – providing physical, hands-on support for the most urgent cases. The CHAS at Home team continues to provide vital care in people’s homes. Of course this is in addition to their ongoing work in hospitals to provide specialist palliative support to their NHS colleagues working with children with life-shortening conditions. This includes their specialist palliative care team in Glasgow Children’s Hospital, as well as their Diana children’s nurses who work in the major children’s hospitals across Scotland.

We absolutely love and appreciate the work that CHAS do, and we hope that we can help support families through their toughest times.

Megan Stobo, Senior Corporate Partnerships Executive from CHAS said;

Knowing your child will die young is the hardest thing. It is made even harder with the constant worry about what Coronavirus infection means, and the stark reality of isolation.

To ensure we can continue supporting every referred child and their families who are shielding at home, we have launched the UK’s first Virtual Children’s Hospice, providing remote access to a range of remote support from CHAS. Essential medical advice, creative activity packs and videos as well as fun and games with Clown Doctors and music therapists will be provided for free. For those who can’t currently visit CHAS’s hospice support and creative activities as usual, the virtual hospice will not only help them survive this unprecedented situation, but help them thrive and continue to smile – keeping the joy alive.

We are so grateful to the team at Eden Mill, and indeed their fantastic customers for supporting children and families through this wonderful initiative.

The 70cl bottles are available to buy direct here for £30.

Eden Mill our proud to announce Duty to Care as our charity to support this month

SECOND MONTH OF FUNDS

We are now pleased to announce that our new chosen charity is Duty To Care.  With our NHS workers facing a huge amount of pressure at work, now more than ever, it is important to support them through these difficult times.  Duty To Care’s mission is to provide wellbeing support via online consultation to improve and sustain the mental health and wellbeing of healthcare professionals.  With your help, through Duty To Care, NHS workers will have access to: cbt therapists; psychotherapists; mindfulness teachers; meditation experts; breath-work experts; nutritional therapists, personal trainers, yoga teachers and life coaches.

We are so proud of all of our NHS and healthcare heroes and we hope this can make even a small difference to many NHS workers.

Harriet Hunt, Founder of Duty To Care, says,

“We are absolutely thrilled that Eden Mill has chosen to direct funds towards Duty To Care. The innovative way in which they adapted their product and set out fundraising plans in response to the crisis in inspiring. Turning the bottle blue made a powerful statement, and it speaks volume about their commitment and determination to give back at this time. We are delighted that our donation from the money they are raising will enable us to support our NHS workers with virtual therapy and wellbeing sessions.”

FIRST MONTH OF FUNDS

Proceeds will be donated to Masks for NHS Heroes, a crowdfunding effort set up by front-line NHS doctors to help raise money for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This equipment will be given to all front-line staff including paramedics, porters, cleaning staff, healthcare assistants, catering staff, physiotherapists and NHS volunteers.  We have chosen Mask for NHS Heroes due to the fantastic effort they are making to provide PPE to workers which will not only save the front-line staff’s lives but also the lives of the patients.

We are so proud of all of our NHS and healthcare heroes and we hope this can make even a small difference to many lives!
