The 50 crystal cut design honours the style of bottle used on the Eden Mill distillery site when gin and whisky was made there in the 1800s.

Eden Mill Collaborate With Fife Artist For Latest Whisky Release

Eden Mill 2019 Release Single Malt

In celebration of St Andrew’s Day, we’re delighted to reveal our 2019 Release Single Malt.

Retailing at £79, the limited release of 3,000 bottles is a collaborate with Fife-based artist Hilke MacIntyre to create the art piece, titled ‘St Andrews’ for the presentation box. Hilke MacIntyre, originally from Germany, has lived in Fife since 1995 and is known as a specialist in linocutting: a traditional and highly skilled craft, derived from woodcutting. The artwork is inspired by pivotal moments in Eden Mill’s story and features famous
landmarks of the St Andrews and Guardbridge coastline – a place we at Eden Mill is proud to call home.

The 2019 Release Single Malt is our third single malt whisky in two years, since the unveiling of the First Bottling in 2017, and will see just 1,500 bottles available in the UK.

Scott Ferguson, Eden Mill’s Head Distiller, said: “This limited release is one of the most exciting whisky offerings from Eden Mill in our five years of distilling.’ He continued: “Working with sherry flavours from the oloroso and the sweet sugary flavour from the pedro ximenez casks is something that has been present throughout our previous hip flask releases and we want to exhibit our ability to work with these flavours in our 2019 Single Malt release.”

Our 2019 Release aims to deliver a balance of sweet, spice and light notes of toasted fruits and remains sweet and fruity, with hints of cocoa and caramelised biscuits beneath, with a malty-sweet towards the finish.

The 2019 Release Single Malt has incorporated a selection of Oloroso hogheads, pedro ximenez hogsheads, American bourbon barrels with a cask of chocolate malt spirits and crystal malt spirit to craft their latest liquid.

The Candy Cane Mojito is a festive take on the classic cocktail with warm bilberry sweetness and a tingly peppermint freshness from our Candy Cane Gin which is sure to fill even the biggest of Scrooges with Christmas spirit this festive season!

You can recreate it too, you’ll need…
– 60ml Spiced Rhubarb Crumble Liqueur
– 35ml Vodka
– 25ml Lemon Juice
– 5 drops Rhubarb bitters – 1 egg white
Simply shake and strain!


Whisk yourself away to somewhere tropical this weekend with our Mango & Pineapple Liqueur. 🍍🍍

Create the ‘Perfect Storm’ using:
25ml Mango & Pineapple Liqueur
25ml Coconut Rum
25ml Passion fruit puree (or 1 full passion fruit)
25ml Pineapple juice
Mix all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker, add ice, shake, double strain and serve in a chilled martini glass.


Join the ‘Love Club’ with our Raspberry, Vanilla & Meringue Liqueur. We’ve tried and tested this cocktail and can say it’s 👌.
You’ll need:
– 25ML Raspberry, Vanilla & Meringue Liqueur
– 25ML Love Gin
– 20ML Lemon Juice
– 15ML Sugar Syrup
– 5 Raspberries
– 1 Egg White

Muddle the raspberries in the bottom of the shaker then add in the remaining ingredients. First, dry shake without ice, then add the ice and shake hard. Double strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

Eden Mill Announced as Headline Gin at The Hydro

Eden Mill, the popular Scottish gin and whisky distiller, has today (Thursday 12th September) announced it is the official gin sponsor at Glasgow’s iconic arena the SSE Hydro.

The three-year deal sees Eden Mill’s award-winning Original Gin become the official house gin, as well as its Love Gin and Mixology bottles being stocked for gin loving customers.

To celebrate the partnership, the SSE Hydro will light up this evening in colours representing the brand’s delicious Mixology flavours: Berry Bramble (red), Citrus Fizz (orange), Basil Smash (green) and the brand-new addition to the line-up: Love Bellini (pink).

Customers heading to gigs and performances will be able to swing by the new branded bar on the concourse, as well as enjoy a tipple at either of the two Eden Mill bars in the Hydro Club which will also serve Eden Mill’s Hop and Oak gins.

Known for its bold and mouth-watering flavours, the colder months will see the SSE Hydro bars serving Eden Mill’s Candy Cane gin which is sure to get customers into the festive spirit. 

Paul Miller, co-founder of Eden Mill, said: “Eden Mill are known for being gin staples at festivals such as the Royal Highland Show and London’s Urban Food Festival, so it was only natural for us to move into Scotland’s home of live entertainment.”

Most recently, Eden Mill were the official gin sponsors of Glasgow’s Summer Nights at the historic Kelvingrove Bandstand. The two-week festival saw the 2,500-capacity bandstand taken over by musical legends such as Burt Bacharach, Patti Smith and Hue and Cry, among others.

Eden Mill Entrepreneur Lands Global Marketing Academy Award

Eden Mill co-founder Paul Miller has won an industry Oscar for the entrepreneurial marketing skills that put the beer, gin and whisky brand on the world map. 

Paul Miller was presented with Global Marketer of the Year at the 22nd Academy of Marketing Science world congress at the University of Edinburgh on Thursday (11th July). 


The award recognises his significant global contribution to the marketing of drinks industry along with his key role in revitalising the Scottish craft gin market and bringing whisky production back to St Andrews after 150 years. 

Previous winners include Olivier Dexemple, the former Marketing and Development Director of Coca-Cola Europe and Rod Drury founder and former CEO of the online accounting software company Xero. 

Miller completed an MBA at University of Edinburgh Business School in 2004, where he continues to support the education of the next generation of marketers. 

After a career with Diageo, Glenmorangie and Coors, he set up Eden Mill in 2012 and has seen turnover grow to £11million a year with the goal of becoming Scotland’s first carbon neutral distillery. 

Paul Miller said: “I am thrilled to be recognised at the AMS World Marketing Congress 2019, as well as the wider marketing and business community. It’s been a tremendous few days learning from experts and peers from around the world.” 

Professor Tina Harrison, co-chair of the 2019 AMS congress, said: “Paul Miller receives this award in recognition of his significant contribution to the development of the Scottish gin, whisky and beer markets at home and globally.” 

This week’s 2019 congress sees a rigorous academic programme which focuses on enlightenment. 

The theme ‘Enlightened Marketing in Challenging Times’, draws on the historical significance of Edinburgh as the birthplace of the ‘Scottish Enlightenment’, the intellectual movement that centred on reason and advanced the ideas of liberty, progress and the scientific method. 

The congress reflects critically on the roles of marketing and marketers in incorporating and advancing the ideals and actions of the Scottish Enlightenment within contemporary marketing theory and practice.

Follow our journey – what we’ve been up to!


May 2018 marked the end of an era at our home in St Andrews. Since Eden Brewery started in 2012 we’d been based in a small section of the old Guardbridge Paper Mill, and over the years had tacked on some extra areas, improved our shop, and upgraded our production kit.

By late 2017 we were bursting at the seams and pressed on with plans to relocate our brewery & distillery to the opposite side of the site into a lovely old building overlooking the Eden Estuary. This meant saying goodbye to what had been our home for five years. The place where our brewers created the range of beer that is often seen in bars throughout St Andrews. The place where our, now award winning, range of gins were devised, refined, and perfected. The place where we filled the first cask of single malt whisky in St Andrews for over 150 years. And a place that we’ve proudly shown 16,000 visitors around on tours, where they’ve met the wonderful team of people who’ve made all of these things happen. It was a sad moment when we closed the doors for the final time. 


But the prospect of being able to expand upon what we’d achieved gave us all a new focus, and we set about making plans for the future. This meant some creative thinking in the short-term while construction was underway, and thus Gatehouse was born! Right on Main Street in Guardbridge, directly across from the famous Mill clock, we secured an area to use for our pop-up shop and tastings that would allow us to continue to offer an experience to visitors while our production space was being renovated a few hundred meters across the road.

We sourced shipping containers and set about converting them into our new shop and tasting rooms, which drew upon our teams secondary talents such as joinery and gardening! Fortunately, we’ve got quite the talented bunch who put in a few long shifts to make sure we were open in time for the summer.

In July, we opened the Gatehouse and resumed where we’d left off – offering beer, gin and whisky tastings, sharing our story with visitors, and giving away some sneaky details about what’s going on behind the scenes with our permanent site move. We launched our Summer Punch Gin, and The Gatehouse was an ideal place to sit and enjoy it in the sunshine.

We even made time for some mini-golf between tastings!

It was fantastic to see visitors enjoying what we were doing, despite not being able to see our brewery/distillery. 1500 people visited us over the summer, and we found that we actually hadn’t gone big enough with our pop-up! An upgrade was needed, and so we decided to renovate our space once more. Lots of ideas were thrown around, but we wanted something unusual, that would do the things that Eden Mill have always been good at – being creative and making an instant impression!


Our new custom-built structures arrived in February and gained instant attention from local passers-by on Main Street. Buses, taxis and pedestrians all gave a bemused look as they passed, which was exactly what we were hoping for! Our team set about building the giant jigsaw puzzles that were to become our two new geodesic domes. The build took around four days, and we were delighted with the results.

This now gives us more capacity to host tastings with guests, and a place to showcase not only our story so far, but the future plans. It creates a space we are excited to show people, and somewhere we know our visitors will enjoy spending an hour or two with us sampling beer, gin or whisky.

From 10th April we’ll be running daily tastings at Gatehouse, focused around either gin or beer & whisky (combined). These will be an hour long, and have been put together from scratch by our team. We’ve thrown the old format and scripts out and started again, thinking about what we want to tell visitors about our journey and how we can share some secret details about our new permanent site as it’s being constructed.

We’ve worked hard over the past nine months to put together something different to really show people what Eden Mill is all about, and we cannot wait to welcome our first guests this summer. There really is no better place to enjoy a sample while you pick the brains of one of our team, so we sincerely hope you’ll come along for a visit this year. Scottish Gin Awards 2018 – The Eden Mill Success.

On Thursday 20th of September, the team at Eden Mill joined likeminded finalists at the Doubletree by Hilton Glasgow to celebrate innovation and excellence in gin distilling in Scotland. Eden Mill joined over 600 others in celebrating Scotland’s biggest spirits competition.

On arrival, Eden Mill had the honour of being 1 of 5 selected Gins to be served as an arrival drink alongside Edinburgh Gin, Makar, Isle of Harris and McQueen. Solid Liquids done a fantastic job at hosting the drinks reception as did KD Media for hosting the entire night. It was evident from the start that all guests were truly honoured, excited and proud to be in attendance and the atmosphere from start to finish proved this.

Eden Mill were extremely humbled and honoured to have won the most awards of the night, collecting five awards in total.

  • Gin of the Year (Overall Winner) – Original Gin.
  • London Dry Gin of the Year (Gold) – Original Gin.
  • Cask Gin of the Year (Bronze) – Oak Gin.
  • Excellence in Marketing (Gold).
  • Exporter of the Year (Gold).


Out of 116 Gins that originally entered the category, Eden Mill were truly honoured to have received an award in the London Dry Gin category fending off 30 other Gins that made it as finalists. Eden Mill’s Original Gin was thereafter recognised by the judges as the best gin in the overall competition, winning the title of Gin of The Year 2018.

Let’s just say that it was certainly a night to remember for not only those attending, but for all of the team at Eden Mill. Our achievements would not of been possible without the contribution, dedication and hard-work from the full team across the board and we are truly lucky to work alongside such passionate, creative and driven individuals.

The Scottish Gin Awards truly highlights the sheer volume of talent that exists within the Spirits industry in Scotland and it was simply amazing to share and applaud fellow attendees, to recognise them for their achievements.

The Eden Mill story started with a mission to revive the lost art of distilling in St. Andrews and we will continue to share our passion and push boundaries because it’s what we love to do.

Eden Mill to open new retail outlet and Blendworks Experience in Glasgow’s Princes Square

Eden Mill, the popular Scottish gin and whisky distiller, is to open its first retail outlet outside St Andrews in Glasgow’s award-winning shopping and leisure destination, Princes Square.

The new 4090 sqft unit, which is planned to open in late October 2018, will be home to Eden Mill’s popular Blendworks concept and its new Jax bar-eatery and will join other high profile leisure brands recently confirmed at Princes Square including the fast-growing independent boutique cinema operator, Everyman Cinemas, and Kate Spade New York, the international fashion and lifestyle accessory retailer.

Kate Spade New York’s first high street boutique outside London is planned to open its doors in Spring of 2019 and Everyman Cinemas’ will open its first cinema in Scotland at the end of October 2018.

The popular Blendworks experience sees Eden Mill’s tutors lift the curtain on the gin making process, bringing the historic setting of St Andrews to a unique setting in Glasgow city centre.  Blendworks gives visitors the chance to create their very own gin by choosing their own ingredients and determining their own flavour profile.

Jax brings a top-quality and exciting new bar to Glasgow.  Featuring unique cocktails designed by Eden Mill’s distillers, this sophisticated bar has a youthful flair.  Jax by Eden Mill accommodates fizz at lunch, listening to a cool DJ and sipping cocktails with dinner, and staying late for a dance.  With a view through to Blendworks, Jax is on the ‘must-see’ list.

Eden Mill picked up five awards at the highly-respected Scottish Gin Awards (20th September) including the top awards for Gin of the Year and London Dry Gin of the Year.

Princes Square was named as Scotland’s Favourite Building in a public vote held by the Royal Incorporation of Architects as part of the RIAS’s Festival of Architecture 2016 recognising Scotland’s Top 100 buildings from 1916 to 2015.

Thursday 8th March 2018 marks International Women’s Day, a day for celebrating women’s achievements worldwide all whilst calling for gender equality. International Women’s Day has been observed since the 1900s and is now celebrated around the world with conferences, marches, talks and art performances annually.

We have been proud sponsors of the Celtic FC women’s team over the past 12 months, and we’re excited to welcome the squad to Blendworks in St Andrews ahead of International Women’s Day.

Blendworks will allow each individual player to create their very own gin giving them the chance to choose their ingredients and determine flavour profiles, whilst being tutored by our Master Distiller.

This season so far we’ve seen the likes of Celtic FC captain Scott Brown at Blendworks alongside vice-captain and Swedish international Mikael Lustig. Former Celts and current Hibs personnel Neil Lennon & Dylan McGeough have also joined us alongside John McGinn in creating their very own gin, so we’re definitely on the ball!

International Women’s Day aims to achieve full gender equality for women around the world and in 2018, the main theme for International Women’s Day #PressForProgress has been inspired by the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements and continues to call for the vocal fight for equality. We are proud to be supporting Celtic FC Woman’s Team on this day.
